This is why I commented at the beginning of the Sora Arc not to skip it despite it being filler, cuz it served as a great character development for Asuma. When I read this on the manga, it didn't hit the feels like it did in the anime.
Idk man, it still hits hard even after skipping fillers
You really don't like the fillers do you
Lol why should I? I've already watched them anyways. Thinking they would be useful to the plot later although I was getting bore as heck (the shittiest one was the one where Naruto & friends were going on that island to train with killer bee) without knowing they were fillers which aren't related to the main story at all (I was honestly new to animes at that time so I didn't knew what's a filler, cannon etc.) + they're just made to give time to the manga so that anime won't catch up to the source material & then the anime would have no story to move forward. And ngl the longass filler arcs here really made my head mess up so yeah I would personally skip them & would also recommend the same to anyone
I get it, since the anime is already complete and people now know which is canon or not, some may be able to skip those.
But I think it all comes down to personal taste.
I'm a completionist, I would do anything upto completion. Though I thought I would hate myself for going through fillers, turns out it wasn't that bad. And I binge watch an arc to completion so fillers are like checkpoint for me where I watch them leisurely.
They maybe a means to stall time so manga can keep up, but sometimes there are interesting stories and characters that get fleshed out better than in main story.
For first time watchers, I'd say them to watch fillers if they have the time, it's actually rewarding when you catch up to the main story.
Yeah that's what I advised to my friends irl, watch them if you have time but a lot of them refused anyways since the series is huge + same here, I WAS a completionist type of person back in my school but for fillers, as I said, I really didn't knew if skipping these would do me good or not, although I had a feeling that skipping these would be good but I didn't because of the very same completionist mentality. Turns out I wasted my time for nothing & I could've caught up with shippuden earlier (since it was still airing at that time). Yeah it is honestly a personal choice just stating my POV on fillers. It honestly messed up the story for me
Really? To me this is the least sad death in Naruto, Asuma's death could've had so much potential knowing how much his character has been shown in the long run but this fight didn't had any depth for Asuma it felt more like he was a side piece to develop Shikamaru, it is sad he's gone but they definitely didn't do Asuma right.
I am depressed after Asuma's death
same wont get over it rip.
considering the amount of red flags they gave to asuma throughout this arc I felt like this was coming so I braced myself!!!!
I'm happy that all comments got deleted or we would have been spoiled at the very beginning of this arc!!!
Well old comments had tons of useful info too not just spoiler + they were hilarious af. Gonna miss those comments
yeah... i saw it coming
When INO screams "Sensei!" That's when I start to cry
litteral goosebumps
10:56 "These are Asuma sensei's last words. justlisten." That line from Shikamaru is when I started to cry...
The moment you realized that you can no longer do anything other than just listen is just hopelessly sad, and the fact that the last words are directed to you makes you have mixed feelings about it... The tears just kept coming when Ino, Choji and Shikamaru cried silently while listening. T-T
So how many more deaths? I hate that I'm tearing up like I'm cutting an onion. T_T
alot
Good bye Asuma... May you rest in peace hidden in the leaves...
Asuma gonna smoke that hidden leaf in the after life🥹
"The smoke makes my eyes water" gives heavy "It's a terrible day for rain" vibes
*When Someone dies*
Rain:"It's Show Time"
"I want one last smoke" ................ T_T
bruh i watched this 4 fking times and i still cry when i see this...
plus when ino yelled "sensei" i felt dat man.... ༼☯﹏☯༽
Surprised that you got the courage to rewatch the saddest part (that too 4 times-). I could never- 😢
noooooooooooooooooo
this is so sad
Well that was sad , i mean not that much but it was kind of sad .
I cried on this episode 😭😭 RIP Asuma Sensei... Thank you for making Team 10 awesome and good for team work specially guide the to enhance their skills 💖💖 Thank you also for the good memories 💖😭
Rip asuma
At this point, whoever ally will die... I'll cry.
NOOO
I'm not someone who cries a often. But damn this episode was sad. RIP Asuma certified gigachad
when shikamaru saw ino's tears he knew this is it and that hurt a lot 😔😔😔😔 their last time with their sensei 💔 although kurenai already realized something is wrong but the moment she will hear it for real will be so devastating.
The sky cried too, everthing was mourning for the loss of one of the best shinobi and the way they were showing third hokage's stone face with rain drops falling off looking as if he was crying, that was just utterly so sad, father cared and loved his son and son realized it too, hope they be peaceful forever.
I feel Nothing but cry.
This was truly sad!
As realization dawns upon Shikamaru that now it's time to say goodbye, to let go..and he says "These are Asuma sensei's last words". And they showed the sweet time they all spent together which made the moment more emotional.
I never saw another sensei like Asuma who gave constant treats, gifts for achievements of his students. He even spent most of his time with Shikamaru playing Shogi, teaching him and they were like cool friends most of the times, Shikamaru casually called him by his name. And when he asked for his last cigarette... it was all so painful.
RIP Asuma Sensei, you were a great teacher and an amazing Shinobi.
I don't know why when I saw those crow feathers I immediately that it was Itachi who interrupted.
When poor Shikamaru was making excuses by saying "The smoke always makes me cry". It will be tough for Shikamaru but I believe that he will come back more stronger than ever ♡
pain

F for Asuma Sensei
Okay. So we get a reminder that he's 3rd Hokage's son, then they tell us about his and Kurenai's relationship. Then we get a brief moment with Naruto and Asuma, just to show that Wind style was so rare that only Asuma had it in Konoha. Then we get like a brotherhood story with Saitama and flashbacks of his relationship with his father.
We do all that and you're telling me that the son of 3rd Hokage (same person who fought against reanimated versions of first and second hokage 1v2 way past his prime) just dies and we don't even trade him for even one Akatsuki member? That's mad. Actual disrespect to this character by the author, no point to his death and just meant to make viewers sad.
Here comes Depression-kun T^T
One of the Saddest death in Naruto,Asuma was like a Father to them,He was with them since they were kids and now its like loosing a family memeber
When he Asked for his last Cigarette,That scene teared me up so bad + those flashbacks just Intensified the pain T^T
